Faridabad (Haryana) [India], June 30 (ANI): A 28-year-old garment businessman died by suicide inside his clothing store in Sector 3, leaving behind a harrowing social media video and a suicide note that blamed continuous domestic torture, physical assault, and systemic humiliation by his wife and her family.

Following the tragedy, the Faridabad Police registered a criminal case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) targeting eight members of the deceased's in-laws' family, all of whom have reportedly gone into hiding to evade arrest.

Police Outpost In-charge Sanjay Sharma told ANI that the deceased, identified as Rahul, was a resident of Sector 3 in Faridabad. He said Rahul had married in 2024 and ran a clothing shop.

"Rahul (28) was a resident of Sector 3. He was involved in a dispute with his wife, which led him to die by suicide. Rahul had gotten married in 2024 and ran a clothing shop. A case has been registered against eight members of his in-laws' family. The investigation is underway," Sharma said.

Rahul, a resident of the Sector 3 Housing Board Colony, had opened his new retail clothing shop on the ground floor of his building just a month prior. The incident came to light when Rahul's brother, Amit, saw an unexpected, emotionally raw video uploaded to Rahul's Instagram account.

Sensing immediate danger, family members rushed downstairs and broke through the locked glass doors of the store, only to find Rahul already dead.

In his final recorded video moments, Rahul pleaded his innocence, stating, "God knows how right I am and how right she is," before requesting strict legal accountability against his tormentors and directing that his shop and assets be inherited solely by his mother and siblings.

Police are investigating. Further details are awaited. (ANI)
