PENAMPANG: Sabah should emulate Penang’s recently passed proposal of appointing a minimum 30 per cent women as local authority council members and government-linked company (GLC) board members, said Sabah DAP Women chief Jannie Lasimbang (pic).

Jannie, who is also Kapayan Assemblywoman, said this is a very important development that the State should follow.

“Quotas, while still taking into account the qualifications and suitability, have been recommended as a way to bridge the gap between women and men in various sectors,” she said in a statement, Wednesday.
