4G coverage in Sabah at 71.7pc: MCMC

Kota Kinabalu: The 4G mobile broadband coverage in populated areas in Sabah, in the first quarter of this year, is 71.7 per cent, said Sabah Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) Director Izani Othman.

As for 3G and 2G, they stood at 84.1 per cent and 88.3 per cent, respectively.

“For the connectivity status of the broadband penetration rate for each 100 people in the State is 83.3 per cent – 3.1 per cent for fixed line broadband and the remaining 80.7 per cent us mobile broadband,” he said during a briefing with Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Yakub Khan on the National Digital Network (Jendela), here.
