‘Deport illegals, don’t wait for KL’

Kota Kinabalu: Darau Assemblyman, Azhar Datuk Mastussin (pic) said the present State Government should not wait for the “green light” from the Federal Government to carry out its operations of flushing out PTIs (illegal immigrants).

Instead, he said, Sabah can immediately use the power of the State Government and the Chief Minister to arrest and deport the PTIs.

“I was made to understand that the Chief Minister, who chairs the State Security Council, has the authority to direct the Immigration Department and the National Registration Department (NRD) to begin the operations to arrest and deport the PTIs.

“Hence, the State Government and the Chief Minister can now issue the directives to the relevant enforcement or security forces to conduct the operations throughout Sabah. It can even be done this evening or tomorrow and it is possible, if there is a political will,” he said.
