Two houses, 3 vehicles destroyed in LD fire

LAHAD DATU: Two houses and three vehicles were destroyed in a fire at Kampung Silam, Jalan Silam, Tuesday.

Sabah Operation Movement Centre (PGO) under the State Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call at 9.21am via  MERS 999.

A team of 10 fire and rescue personnel with one Fire Rescue Tender (FRT), a Light Fire Rescue Tender (LFRT) and one Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) were deployed to the scene led by Lahad Datu Fire and Rescue Station Chief, Samsoa Rashid.

“The first house, which is double-storey and semi-permanent, was 90 per cent destroyed while the second house, a wooden one, was completely destroyed. Also destroyed were three vehicles.

“The operation ended at 11.52am,” he said.

No casualty was reported. The cause and estimated loss is still under investigation by the Tawau Zone 5 Fire Investigation Division.
