Former Newcastle chairman Sir John Hall is happy seeing Edde Howe's appointment.
Hall likens Howe to Magpies legend Kevin Keegan.
“We had many managers who had a tremendous name, but they failed," he told talkSPORT.
“He's come to a club with fans who are very ambitious. He seems to have a lot of good ideas. He wants to play passing football, just like Keegan.
“Who knows, he might be the second Keegan, coming in and giving us the football we enjoy.
“All of us up here will give him the support he needs to get out of relegation. Then after that, over the next few years, build a team.
“We know it will take time, and at his age, he's got time to do it."
