Leeds United technical chief Victor Orta is interesting Newcastle.
Newcastle are still in the hunt for a director of football to work between Eddie Howe and the club's new owners, says The Sun.
They have turned their attention to Brighton's technical director, Dan Ashworth, but Orta remains a man that they are potentially interested in.
It is unlikely they would be able to tempt the Spaniard away from Elland Road but the Magpies would be able to offer him a contract that far supersedes the amount he currently earns.
Leeds will be hopeful that Orta's full attention remains on matters in West Yorkshire with a pivotal transfer window opening in less than a fortnight.
