Kota Kinabalu: Nearly 1,000 backlogged Covid-19 cases contributed to today's caseload of 3,735 in Sabah, said spokesperson for the crisis, Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.

“Kota Kinabalu recorded the highest number of backlogs which contributed greatly to the caseload. Out of 1,039 cases recorded in Kota Kinabalu, only 19 occurred in the last 24 hours," he said in a statement.

“A total of 296 cases were backlogs from two to three days ago and 724 were from more than four days ago, of which 89 were overdue for more than 12 days."

Despite the dip in the daily caseload, Masidi said sporadic infections remained high at 66.45 per cent, which indicated that cases in the future could rise sharply.
