
KOTA KINABALU: A huge number of backlog test results had contributed significantly to the number of additional cases in districts like Kota Kinabalu, Penampang, Papar and Putatan.
State Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said Sabah recorded 4,256 new cases, Friday.
“Kota Kinabalu is still high with 1,241, followed by Papar (370), Putatan (363), Penampang (345) and Tuaran (308),” he said in the State’s daily update.
Sporadic infections, he said, is still high which is 65.48 per cent of Friday’s new cases.
“Some 4,237 cases or 99.59 per cent of the new cases are in Category 1 and 2, while nine in Category 3, four in Category 4 and six in Category 5.”
He also disclosed that the Jalan Binunuk Cluster which involved Beaufort and Papar ended on Friday. To date, there are 41 active clusters in Sabah.
