Liverpool striker Diogo Jota was delighted to be part of their FA Cup win against Cardiff City.

Liverpool eventually made their domination count in the second half as Diogo Jota headed in from Trent Alexander-Arnold's free-kick.

New signing Luis Diaz came on to set up Takumi Minamino for the Reds' second, before Harvey Elliott marked his return after five months out injured with an elegant swivel and finish.

Jota later said: "Cup games are always hard, even when playing lower league teams and we know the magic of the FA Cup.

"It was crucial to get the first goal, it is hard to get the space against a low block and in the end we got three and are in the next stage.

"If it came when I had the first chance it would be better."

On Harvey Elliott's return, he added: "Hopefully first of many (goals). Big injuries is a long road to recovery and working on your own in the gym. He scored in his return and a day to remember for him and his family."
