A.J. Brown has admitted he is no longer as close with Jalen Hurts as he once was, but the former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver made clear there is no bad blood between the pair.
Brown addressed his relationship with Hurts during an interview after his move to the New England Patriots.
The wide receiver was asked directly about where things now stand with his former quarterback.
Brown answered that the pair are “not as close” as they once were, but denied there was any hostility.
A.J. Brown addresses Jalen Hurts relationship

Speaking during the interview, Brown said: “Not as close as we once were. No bad blood. There is still a lot of love. I love him. We haven’t been as close as we were for a couple years now, and that didn’t stop anything.”
The comment is the clearest public answer Brown has given on his relationship with Hurts.
It also draws a line between the two issues that have followed the pair: whether they remain close personally, and whether there is any bad blood between them.
Brown acknowledged the relationship has changed, but he did not describe a falling out.
He also stressed that the distance between them had not prevented the Eagles from succeeding on the field.
Jalen Hurts had also played down tension with Brown
Hurts had recently said his relationship with Brown was “really good” after questions were raised about his absence from Brown’s wedding.
Brown and Hurts spent four seasons together in Philadelphia before the receiver’s exit.
The Eagles have since traded Brown to the Patriots in a deal that sent a 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick to Philadelphia.
Brown’s latest comments do not suggest a new dispute with Hurts.
Instead, they show that a once-close relationship changed over time, while both players have publicly rejected the idea of hostility.
