MANILA, Philippines — Philippine volleyball icon Alyssa Valdez has officially confirmed her relationship with Quantum Golf president Ian Umali after publicly referring to him as her “boyfriend” during their joint birthday celebration last Friday, July 26, at MiraNamin in Quezon City.
The 33-year-old Creamline star made the relationship Instagram official through a social media post, marking the first time she publicly introduced Umali as her partner.
Umali has been a familiar presence at Valdez’s Creamline Cool Smashers matches in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL). He also supported the volleyball star during her stint with the Philippine national team in the 2026 Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Women’s Cup held in Candon, Ilocos Sur, last June.
In a video shared by Valdez on Instagram, Umali revealed his birthday wish for his partner.
“We just had meetings about it this year, right? We’re planning something big, something to organize and be intentional about what she wants to do in the future. So that’s the one,” Umali said.
Valdez remains part of Creamline’s roster as she gears up for the 2026 PVL season.
