Amit still undefeated in Women’s World 10-Ball

RUBILEN Amit denied fellow Filipino world pool champion Chezka Centeno, 4-3, 2-4, 4-2, in the second round of the WPA Women’s 10-Ball World Championship in Rome, Italy Saturday.

Getting back at Centeno who defeated her in the 8-ball worlds quarterfinals last week, Amit stayed on the winners side as she guns for a last 16 berth against Sofia Mast on Sunday.

Centeno, who ruled the 8-ball world championships, got relegated to the losers bracket and needs three wins to enter the final 16.

Centeno looks to stay in the tournament as she battles American Kennedy Meyman on Sunday.

A loss would boot her out of the competition.

Amit and Centeno team up in the Women’s Doubles Master Showdown against the Japanese pair of Yuki Hiraguchi and Chihiro Kawahara on Sunday night.

Meanwhile, the campaign of world champion Carlo Biado and promising cue master AJ Manas in the 2026 Vice City Classic in Florida, USA has officially come to an end after falling in their respective quarterfinal matches.

Biado lost to Albania's Kledio Kaci in a tight 9-11 decision, while Manas was also unfortunate, suffering a 7-11 defeat at the hands of Netherlands' Marco Teutscher.

Biado reached the quarterfinals by knocking out Georgi Georgiev in the Round of 16 and Oliver Szolnoki in the Round of 32, while Manas prevailed over Pijus Labutis in the Round of 16 and Landon Hollingsworth in the Round of 32.
