Asia Rose Simpson bows out of Miss World 2026 with Top 12 finish

MANILA, Philippines —  Philippine representative Asia Rose Simpson’s Miss World 2026 journey ended in the Top 12 after she failed to advance to the Top 6, with host country Vietnam’s Lê Nguyễn Bảo Ngọc moving on to the next round.

Following the Top 12 announcement, the Top 2 delegates from each continent faced a question-and-answer round. Simpson and Bảo Ngọc represented the Asia and Oceania group.

They were asked: “You’re representing the most populated and most varied region in this competition. What’s one thing about where you come from that you want the rest of the world to understand and how does that show up in the way you carry this title?”

Simpson highlighted her Filipino-American heritage and the value of unity in her answer.

“We speak about diversity. And I am half Filipino, half American. So I know what it is like to represent two sides of a coin. In my country, we are known for resilience. We are known for hospitality. But I know them for the love of family and the core of any family unit is unity.”

She added: “If I were to bring one value from my country to the world, it would be unity. Miss World has united 111 countries from around the globe. So I think that this is just the start. Maraming, maraming salamat.”

The six delegates advancing to the next round are Snit Habteab Tewoldemedhin of Eritrea, who earned the People’s Choice Award; Taanusiya Chetty of Malaysia, the Beauty With a Purpose winner; Joheirry Mola Dominguez of the Dominican Republic; Elisabeth Reynés Alaber of Spain; and Romanda Hombir of South Africa, alongside Bảo Ngọc of Vietnam.
