MANILA, Philippines — Philippine representative Asia Rose Simpson has advanced to the Top 20 of Miss World 2026 as the Head-to-Head Challenge champion, continuing her bid to bring home the Philippines’ second Miss World crown.
Simpson secured her place in the Top 40 after topping the Head-to-Head Challenge for the Asia and Oceania group, before advancing further as the challenge’s overall champion.
Her latest achievement adds to an already strong showing in the competition. Simpson advanced to the final round of Beauty With a Purpose, placed third overall in the Talent Challenge, reached the Top 23 in the Sport Challenge and advanced to the Top 60 of Top Model.
During the coronation night, Simpson also made an impression in a pink and silver gown by Filipino designer Ryan Ablaza Uson.
The gown drew inspiration from the lotus, which the Miss World Philippines Organization described as a symbol of beauty, purity, resilience and grace in Vietnam. The organization said the creation was meant to reflect Simpson’s journey and her moment to shine on the world stage.
Simpson is seeking to follow Megan Young, who made history in 2013 as the Philippines’ first Miss World winner. Last year’s Philippine delegate, Krishna Gravidez, finished in the Top 2 of the Asia and Oceania group and was later crowned Miss World Asia.
The Miss World 2026 coronation night is ongoing in Nha Trang, Vietnam, where Simpson is hoping to take the country one step closer to another “blue crown.”
