MANILA, Philippines — Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) is reviewing the order issued by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) concerning the employment permit requirements of former men’s basketball team head coach Tab Baldwin.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the university said that it had received a copy of the DOLE order regarding the “alleged employment permit requirements” of Baldwin.
“The University is currently reviewing the Order with its legal team and studying the remedies available to it under the law,” Ateneo said.
The university said that it would determine its next steps after completing its review.
“Ateneo will take the appropriate next steps after its review,” it said.
The statement came after the labor department found that the former head coach was administratively liable for violations involving his Alien Employment Permit (AEP) and Certificate of Exemption (CE). He was fined P4.9 million for failing to secure the CE.
