MANILA, Philippines — Ateneo de Manila finally barged into the win column in the UAAP Season 88 women's volleyball tournament after topping University of the East, 25-19, 25-23, 25-16, at Mall of Asia Arena Saturday.
The Blue Eagles avoided a winless first round for a 1-6 record, keeping the Lady Warriors winless at 0-7 instead and sending them to their 21st straight loss dating back to last year.
Ana Hermosura logged 12 points laced with seven excellent receptions and six digs.
Jihan Chuatico also came through with 12 points while Zel Tsunashima and Donna De Leon added 10 apiece.
Khy Cepada racked up 13 points, 11 receptions, and seven digs to pace UE.
