Barcelona are confident an agreement is in place with Gavi over a new contract.
Sport says Barcelona have practically closed Gavi's contract renewal. After Thursday's meeting, in which an agreement was reached in principle, the two parties have been exchanging documents to finalise the minor issues that were left to be cleared up. The bulk of the agreement, however, is now a reality.
Barça's legal team and the player's camp have been in permanent contact to draw up the new contract, that will link Gavi to Camp Nou for another four years, until 2026.
In fact, the extension can already be considered done and now all that is left is to revise the text on the document, which should be done on Monday or Tuesday to allow for an official announcement as soon as this week.
