
TAWAU: A foreign national suspected of being involved in a burglary case by carrying stolen goods using a wheelbarrow was arrested by a police on patrols on Wednesday.
Tawau Police Chief, ACP Jasmin Hussin, said the 24-year-old suspect was arrested with information received from the district’ police control centre regarding a burglary at Taman Lim Puang Kong, at about 11.50am.
According to him, when policemen arrived at the scene, the victim said the suspect had already fled with the stolen goods.
With the help of two more Patrol Vehicle Units, the police came across the suspect in Jalan Bunga Raya while pushing a wheelbarrow containing several plastic sacks, Jasmin said.

Jasmin said, as a result of further inspection in the plastic sack brought by the suspect, they found a steamer and some kitchen utensils that were suspected to be stolen.
He added that the suspect was taken along with the seized items to the police station for further investigation in accordance with Section 457 of the Penal Code.
