
The Ambala Group’s ‘Thal Sainik Camp-cum-Combined Annual Training Camp’ is being conducted by the 14th Haryana Battalion of NCC, Yamunanagar, at Sarasvati Vidya Mandir, Jagadhri, under the instructions of Brigadier Rohit Sehgal, Group Commander, Ambala Group NCC.
The camp is being supervised by Commanding Officer Col Pankaj Pareek and administered by Lt Col Kumud Maini. As part of the training programme, an informative lecture on “Entry into the Armed Forces” was delivered by Subedar Major Kishore Chandra from ZRO Ambala Cantt.
Chandra guided the NCC cadets regarding various entry schemes into the Indian Army, eligibility criteria, selection procedures and the opportunities available for young aspirants to serve the nation. He encouraged the cadets to maintain physical fitness, discipline and dedication to achieve their goal of joining the Army.
An enlightening lecture on “Aims and Objectives of NCC” was conducted by Subedar Kalam Negi. He explained the fundamental objectives of the National Cadet Corps, emphasising character building, leadership development, discipline, secular outlook, spirit of adventure and the ideals of selfless service to the nation. He motivated the cadets to actively participate in NCC activities and become responsible citizens that contribute to nation-building.
The cadets actively participated in the interactive sessions and gained valuable insights into military career opportunities and the role of NCC in shaping future leaders. Defence officials, associate NCC officers and permanent instructional and camp staff appreciated the enthusiasm displayed by the cadets during the training activities.
