The Indian Women’s Under-20 handball team, scheduled to participate in the World Championship 2026 on Monday, interacted with Chandigarh DC Nishant Kumar Yadav. The championship is slated to be held in Jinzhong, China from July 29 to August 9.

Interacting with the players and support-staff, the Yadav commended their dedication, discipline and relentless hard work. He appreciated the training and preparation undertaken by the team and expressed confidence in their ability to deliver an outstanding performance at the championship.

A full-and-half marathon lover himself, Yadav acknowledged the contribution of the coaching staff in nurturing talent and building a strong and competitive team capable of excelling at the international level.

Yadav reiterated the commitment of the Chandigarh administration towards promotion of sports and assured the team of support in their journey.

“Every player in this team carries hopes, dreams and pride of a billion people. When you step onto the court, you do not just represent yourselves; you represent the spirit of India. Play with pride, compete with courage and whatever may come, triumph with honour. Chandigarh stands with you every step of the way,” said Yadav.

As a token of encouragement and best wishes, Yadav presented a special memento to the Indian team carrying the message “Best Wishes to Team India”.
