Pugilists of Pandit Mohan Lal Sanatan Dharma (PML SD) Public School, Sector 32, claimed the overall title of the 20th Sub-Junior (Girls) Chandigarh State Championship, at the Sector 42 Sports Complex.

The Sector 32 team claimed the top position by scoring eight points, while the team representing a Sector 56 coaching centre finished second with six points.

Mayra of the Sector 32 school was adjudged as the Best Boxer, while Yashavi of a Sector 42 coaching centre was named Best Promising Boxer.

In the 30-33kg, Mayra defeated Mahi to claim the gold medal.

Kashish won the 43-46kg final by defeating Priya of the Sector 32 school.

Yashpal Preet Kaur of a Sector 56 coaching centre won 40-43kg gold by defeating Yashasvi of a Sector 42 centre, while in the 46-49kg Sakshi won the gold medal by defeating Aaarti ofGovernment Model High School, Sector 37. Aditi Thakur of St Xavier’s School, Sector 44, and Pratha Chouhan of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 35, finished with a joint bronze medal.

Nishchey of a Sector 42 centre was named Best Boxer, while Lakshey of Government Model High School, Sector 48, was adjusted as the Best Promising Boxer of the 39th Sub-Junior (Boys) State Meet. The Sector 42 team won the overall championship with 36 points, while Sector 56 Coaching Centre claimed the second position with 23 points.
