Continuing its sustained drive against illegal vending and encroachments in the city, the Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh, today conducted a massive enforcement drive at various prominent locations under the directions of MC Commissioner Amit Kumar.

The enforcement teams carried out intensive checking against unauthorised vendors in and around Sukhna Lake, Rock Garden, Naya Gaon barrier area, Dhanas and markets in Sectors 32, 30, 26, 19, 27 and 41.

During the special drive, a total of 74 challans were issued against violators found operating without authorisation or creating obstruction on public roads, markets and pedestrian pathways.
