Children dressed as Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Tun Dr Siti Hasmah charm netizens at a cosplay parade in Langkawi
CHILDREN dressed as former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, have charmed netizens after taking part in a cosplay parade at an event in Langkawi last week.
The children were among participants at “Mahathir 101: Piknik Legasi”, organised by @pulaukitapodcast, where they recreated some of Siti Hasmah’s iconic looks as part of the Cosplay Parade.
Photographs and videos of the young participants in their outfits have since circulated on social media, drawing praise from netizens who found their appearances adorable.
One attendee said the children were particularly endearing and smiled at everyone during the event.
A young girl in particular caught the attention of social media users, with one netizen asking where she had obtained her wig.
The highlight of the event came when Mahathir himself attended and was greeted by the children with a salam.
A woman who shared a photograph of the former prime minister surrounded by the young cosplayers on Threads saw the post receive more than 40,600 likes.
The images prompted a wave of light-hearted reactions from netizens, who praised the children for recreating the looks of Mahathir and Siti Hasmah.
