First performing at the Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (DFP) in 2015, 2018, 2020 and 2024, the Cirque De La Symphonie makes a grand return in January 2026
This time around the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) will present two concerts on Saturday, 17 January 2026, at 11am (Family Fun Day) and 8pm.
Circus And Music

Like previous years’ performances, the MPO will recreate the breathtaking musical fusion of circus and classical music for Cirque De La Symphonie.
The DFP will transform into a virtual big top complete with cirque acts such as aerial flyers, acrobats, contortionists, dancers and jugglers.
This concert is designed to bring the magic of cirque to the concert hall, adding much energy and vigour to the whole concert experience and elevating cirque artistry to a fine arts level.

Conducting the music accompanying the performance is renowned Malaysian conductor/composer/pianist Tengku Irfan. The young maestro will helm both concerts, showcasing a versatility in his conductorship in delivering enticing works with the MPO.
The exciting programme includes Rimsky-Korsakov’s Danse des Bouffons, Gluck’s Danse of The Furies, Strauss’ Ohne Sorgen Polka and Thunder And Lightning, Bizet’s Carmen Suites, Smetana’s Dance of The Comedians, Khachaturian’s Valse and de Falla’s Spanish Dance.
For those looking to attend the Family Fun Day concert, the MPO is offering a Family & Friends Package with 20% off with a minimum purchase of 4 tickets. The concerts are suitable for children aged 4 and above.
