MANILA, Philippines – The northeast monsoon or "amihan" will continue to bring cold and dry winds over Luzon, including Metro Manila and most parts of the Visayas, the national weather bureau said on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, no weather disturbance or low pressure area has been spotted inside or outside the country’s area of responsibility in the coming days, weather specialist Chenel Dominguez of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in a 5 a.m. briefing.
She said the convergence of hot and cold air called shear line has been affecting Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Southern Leyte, Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Norte where cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms would occur.
On one hand, Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon), Bicol Region, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon would likely have overcast skies with light rains due to amihan.
The rest of Luzon and the rest of Visayas will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, the state-run weather agency said.
The Pagasa forecaster said that the rest of Mindanao would likely have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the localized thunderstorms over the next 24 hours.
