The Congress party on Saturday organised a training camp for booth-level agents (BLA-2) regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls at Sanatan Dharamshala on Salwan Road in Assandh.
The training programme was coordinated by former MLA Shamsher Singh Gogi and presided over by Karnal Rural District Congress president Rajesh Vaid, while former chairman Surjit Rana conducted the proceedings.
Party leaders and workers were urged to remain vigilant during the voter list revision exercise and ensure that no unauthorised voter is added to the electoral rolls and no genuine voter is removed.
Addressing the gathering, former MLA Gogi said the Congress party would work to ensure that the voting rights of every eligible citizen are protected and that no genuine voter’s name is deleted from the electoral rolls due to any administrative error. He said Congress workers would create awareness at the booth level to safeguard the democratic rights of citizens.
Gogi stressed that no fake voter should be added and no valid voter should be removed from the electoral rolls. He reiterated the party’s commitment to ensuring a fair, accurate and transparent voter list revision process.
Rajesh Vaid called upon party workers and leaders to actively contribute to the successful implementation of the SIR campaign. He urged them to closely monitor their respective booths to ensure that all eligible voters are included in the electoral rolls while fake or ineligible entries are identified and removed.
“No ineligible person should find a place in the voter list under any circumstances,” he said.
During the meeting, party workers were also instructed to give priority to the registration of young voters who have attained the age of 18 years and are eligible to be enrolled in the electoral rolls.
