Police arrested 12 men and seized weapons following a violent midnight riot in Taman Kota Jaya, Kota Tinggi.
KOTA TINGGI: Police arrested 12 men for rioting that left several people injured in Taman Kota Jaya here early this morning.
Kota Tinggi police chief Supt Yusof Othman said the department received information about the incident at 1.57 am.
He said following the report, police arrested 12 men aged 20 to 42 and seized several items believed to be used in the brawl.
“Among the items seized were a 71-centimetre baseball bat, a 90 cm wooden stick, three vehicles, and 13 mobile phones. All suspects have been taken to the Kota Tinggi District Police Headquarters (IPD) for further investigation.
“The case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting with weapons. Efforts to trace and arrest remaining suspects still at large are ongoing,” he said in a statement today.
