Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (IP University) has cautioned students to be wary of touts and fraudsters promising direct admission to the institute in exchange for money.
In a notice issued on Sunday, the university said it had received several complaints from applicants claiming that individuals were offering to secure admission through unofficial means. The university clarified that admissions to all its campuses and affiliated colleges are conducted solely through a centralised counselling process based on merit.
“Admissions in the university campuses and all its affiliated colleges are conducted through a centralised counselling process, which is purely on the basis of merit of the candidates,” the notice stated, adding that the process is carried out in a transparent manner through online or offline counselling.
The university urged applicants not to fall prey to misleading messages or promises of guaranteed admission.
To safeguard personal information, the university also advised candidates to create their login IDs themselves and avoid seeking assistance from third parties, including computer centres and admission counsellors. Applicants have been asked to maintain the confidentiality of their personal details, login credentials and not share them with any unauthorised person.
