Tenom: Clean water supply in this district is expected to be restored as repairs on the main pipeline of the Senagang Water Treatment Plant (LRA) will be completed soon.

The damage to LRA pipeline was caused by landslides on Kg Pangalat and Pamilaan roads.

Tenom District Officer Mas Syazwan Haji Masood said repairs are still ongoing.

“But repairs had been hampered and delayed due to continued soil movement and the unpredictable weather conditions,” he said.

Flooding on March 9 damaged 80 per cent of the main Senagang LRA pipe, causing water supply disruptions around Tenom town.

Moreover, the situation at that time made it difficult to manage over 1,000 flood victims in 14 Temporary Evacuation Centres (PPS).
