US President Donald Trump attended Sunday’s Washington Commanders–Detroit Lions game, becoming the first sitting US president in nearly 50 years to appear at a regular-season NFL matchup.

The president was briefly cheered when shown on the videoboard before being booed as he spoke during a halftime military ceremony.

Trump watched the game with House Speaker Mike Johnson, continuing his string of appearances at major sporting events including the Ryder Cup and the US Open.
