Ng Eain Yow defended his Asian Games men’s singles squash gold medal at Aichi-Nagoya 2026, delivering Malaysia’s fifth gold and booking a spot at LA28.
NAGOYA: National squash ace Ng Eain Yow successfully defended his Asian Games men’s singles gold medal after defeating India’s Abhay Singh 11-9, 11-5, 11-5 in the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 final at the Nagoya Kinjofuto Arena today.
Eain Yow, 28, delivered an energetic and composed performance to overcome Abhay, repeating his golden feat from four years ago.
The victory also secured the Kuala Lumpur-born player an early berth at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games (LA28).
It was Malaysia’s fifth gold medal at Aichi-Nagoya 2026, following two golds in karate and one each in e-sports and sepak takraw.
Eain Yow maintains a perfect record against Abhay, having won all four of their previous encounters, most recently at the 2024 Malaysia Squash Cup.
