Malaysia’s S. Sivasangari retained her Asian Games women’s singles squash gold medal at Aichi-Nagoya 2026, fulfilling the nation’s six-gold target and securing a spot at LA28.
NAGOYA: National squash queen S. Sivasangari lived up to expectations by defending her Asian Games women’s singles gold medal after defeating India’s Anahat Singh 11-4, 11-4, 11-7 in the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 final today.
The victory at the Nagoya Kinjofuto Arena saw Sivasangari retain her Hangzhou 2022 title, and secured her a berth at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games (LA28).
The Kedah-born player delivered a composed performance to complete a stellar campaign, handing the national contingent its sixth gold medal.
Her win continued the national squash team’s excellent run at the Games, following Ng Eain Yow’s successful title defence in the men’s singles earlier in the day.
The victory also helped Malaysia reach its six-gold medal target for the Games.
