MANILA, Philippines — Filipino better Alex Eala fell to American Iva Jovic anew, 2-6, 2-6, as she exited the WTA 500 HSBC Championships round of 16 in London, England Wednesday evening in Manila.

World No. 33 Eala first succumbed to her close friend and world No. 19 Jovic in their French Open first round encounter, 4-6, 2-6, two weeks ago.

Eala defeated Zhang Shuai, 6-3, 6-2, in the first round to forge the rematch.

Continuing her buildup for the Wimbledon, Eala will next compete at the 500 Berlin Tennis Open set from June 15 to 21.
