Alex Eala of the Philippines has secured a tournament purse of $28,245 or P1.7 million for reaching the WTA 500 HSBC Championships second round (round of 16) in London, England late Tuesday night (Manila time)
The 33rd ranked Filipino netter defeated Chinese Zhang Shuai, 6-3, 6-2, in the first round to forge a rematch with No. 19 Iva Jovic in the second round.
Eala fell to Jovic in their French Open first round encounter, 4-6, 2-6, on May 26.
