BEAUFORT: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) will ensure that the party continues to be the people’s choice in Lumadan, said its Vice President Datuk Haji Ruslan Muharam.
“We will continue to double up efforts to ensure that PBS continues to be the choice in Lumadan,” stressed Ruslan, Lumadan PBS Division Chief.
Speaking at the Lumadan PBS Division’s 38th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Datuk Seri Panglima DUN Banir Hall here, last Sunday, Ruslan said the presence of 1,881 delegates and observers who attended the AGM this time proved that PBS is increasingly becoming the choice of people in Lumadan.
“This is a huge number. The other four PBS divisions also held their respective AGM today namely Membakut PBS Division with 120 delegates, Klias PBS Division with 105 delegates, Sindumin PBS Division with 88 delegates and Bongawan PBS Division, 130 delegates,” he said.

“PBS is a multiracial party that is increasingly accepted by all including the Muslim community as evident in the Lumadan state constituency, where the majority of the population is Muslim,” said Ruslan, who is also Lumadan Assemblyman.
He said after PBS took the lead in the Lumadan area, several issues had been successfully overcome like the problem of the clean water supply, which is now 95 per cent able to be supplied to the villages while rests are in the process.
In addition, he said, the drainage system problem has also been successfully overcome in the Lumadan area where the issue of flooding that hit most villages for up to six months is now resolved.
Other facilities, he said, include the construction of telecommunication towers in three villages namely Kampung Karangan, Kampung Kababang and Kampung Bangkalalak which have started and will be fully operational this June.
Ruslan also invited all PBS members who were present at the AGM to continue fighting for the party in the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS).
Also present were PBS Vice President Datuk Johnny Mositun; PBS Wanita Chief Datin Malianah Ugau; Youth Chief Christoper Mandut; Supreme Council Members who are also Division Chiefs – John Masabal, Fredolin Totin Bangon and Azmi Haji Ahmad, as well as the Youth and Wanita exco members.
