THE Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has approved two applications to build transmission facilities to connect to the power grid.
Citicore Solar Quezon Inc. was authorized to develop and own point-to-point facilities to connect its 27 megawatt-alternating current (MWac) Pagbilao 2 Solar Power Project to the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines’ (NGCP) 230 kilovolt (kV) Pagbilao Substation.
Likewise, Apo Agua Infrastructura Inc. got its permit to develop, own, and operate point-to-point limited facilities to connect its 2.424 MW Hydroelectric Power Plant in Davao City to Aboitiz Power Corp.’s Davao Light and Power Company’s distribution system.
The estimated P34.80 million cost of the Pagbilao 2 Project was raised to P50.61 million.
Apo Agua Infrastructura’s Hydroelectric Plant will P30.74 million.
The ERC said that, upon inspection, the Pagbilao 2 project started in October 2025, while the Apo Agua Infrastructure project had been completed.
Again the ERC reminded all power generation companies and grid users with similar projects must seek approval before proceeding with construction.
This is to ensure coordinated system planning and maintaining the integrity and security of the overall electricity grid, while preventing the unchecked increase of unauthorized facilities that may compromise the reliability of the electricity grid, the ERC said.
