MANILA, Philippines — Akari Chargers outlasted Cignal Super Spikers in a grueling five-set thriller: 25-23, 20-25, 11-25, 25-23, 15-12, securing their second straight win in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference on Saturday at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.

Akari improved to 2-3 win-loss card.

Ivy Lacsina made a double-double performance of 20 points, along with 11 excellent receptions, while Eli Soyud and Ced Domingo both had an identical scoring of 14 points. For Chargers.

"Maybe I just held on tighter to my teammates, and this really was a team effort. It’s like, I didn't want the hard work of my teammates and coaches to go to waste, so there was no reason not to fight for it,”  Lacsina said.

Mars Alba made 18 excellent sets, along with three points, while Justine Jazareno swept the floor for Akari with 19 excellent digs.

Cignal, which suffered its second-straight defeat (4-2), had Vanie Gandler and Erika Santos, who both churned out 23 points each.

Gel Cayuna did an excellent playmaking of 23 excellent sets, and added seven points on the Super Spikers' offense, but it was not enough to allow her team to escape with a victory.
