
LAHAD DATU: Some 870 individuals were inspected during two-day joint operation by Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom).
Esscom Commander, DCP Victor Sanjos saids 70 vehicles and 315 premises were also inspected during the operation which ended on Thursday.
The operation carried out at the Lahad Datu market settlement near Lahad Datu town was to curb smuggling and preventing the entry of illegal immigrants as well as enforcing the law.
“Four illegal immigrants from Indonesia and Philippines were handed over to Immigration Department for offences under Section 51(5)(b) of Immigration Acts 1959/63 for further action.

Victor said four compounds were also issued and two vehicles were seized by Lahad Datu District Council for not having trading and food handling license.
The operation with Polis DiRaja Malaysia (PDRM), Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (ATM), federal and state enforcement agencies as well as local authorities served as guarantee of public safety preservation as well as ensuring the wellbeing of people in EssZone is at its best.
He said the operation line up to Esscom’s goal of “no day is without operations” for the safety of people in EssZone.
