The power grid situated at Chaurwala village has been upgraded at a cost of Rs 4 crore. Fatehgarh Sahib MLA Lakhbir Singh Rai inaugurated the upgraded power grid on Thursday.
Addressing the gathering, he said the grid would now remain free from overloading issues for the next decade.
He said electricity consumption had been steadily increasing with the growing population and changing lifestyles as people now used significantly more electrical appliances than before. He said the government was committed to ensuring uninterrupted power supply to consumers and was making continuous investments to strengthen the power infrastructure.
