TAWAU: A woman died in a fire that damaged eight stilt houses at Kampung Cempaka, Batu 4 Jalan Apas, Tawau, around 9.15pm on Friday.
The 50-year-old victim suffered burns to her hands and was given emergency treatment at the scene.
According to the Sabah Fire and Rescue Department, five houses were destroyed while three others sustained minor damage.

The operation was also supported by nine members of the Kampung Titingan Community Firefighting Team.
