MANILA, Philippines — Flooding in several parts of Metro Manila subsided Wednesday morning, making these passable to all types of vehicles, authorities said.
The Manila City Public Information Office, citing the Manila City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department, reported that floods along both lanes of España Boulevard have receded as of 11:55 a.m.
Flooding along Osmeña Boulevard near Pedro Gil Street and RMB V. Mapa had also subsided, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority's (MMDA) earlier 9:45 a.m. update.
The MMDA, in its 11 a.m. update, said flooding was mostly gutter-deep.
In Quezon City, gutter-deep floods were reported at the Mindanao Avenue-North Avenue intersection and along Aurora Boulevard near Araneta Avenue. Both areas remained passable to all types of vehicles.
N. S. Amoranto Avenue in Quezon City had tire-deep floods but was not passable to light vehicles.
In Manila, gutter-deep floods were reported along Roxas Boulevard near United Nations Avenue, Kalaw Street near Maria Orosa Street and the National Museum, JAS Solis Street, and España Boulevard near Antipolo Street. All remained passable to all types of vehicles, the MMDA said.
The MMDA also reported half-gutter-deep flooding along Rizal Avenue near R. Papa Street, both northbound and southbound; Taft Avenue from the National Bureau of Investigation to United Nations Avenue in Ermita, northbound; and Abad Santos Avenue corner Tayuman Street. All remained passable to all types of vehicles.
In Mandaluyong City, Boni Avenue corner F. Ortigas Street in Barangay New Zaniga had about 10 inches of water, described by the MMDA as half-knee to gutter-deep, but remained passable to all types of vehicles.
In Caloocan City, gutter-deep flooding was reported along C3 Road near the NLEX Connector and in Barangay 73 along Heroes Del 96 corner New Abbey Road. Both areas remained passable to all types of vehicles.
In Valenzuela City, gutter-deep floods were reported along MCHW/BBB in Marulas. MacArthur Highway in front of Goodyear/Toyota had 5 to 6 inches of water and remained passable to all types of vehicles.
Marikina City reported gutter-deep floods alonge Marcos Highway Underloop but remained passable to all types of vehicles.
In Malabon City, gutter-deep floods were reported along Gov. Pascual Avenue in Sitio 6, Barangay Catmon; M.H. del Pilar Street in Barangay Maysilo; M.H. del Pilar Street in Tatawid, Barangay Santulan; Rizal Avenue Extension in Barangay San Agustin; Hulong Duhat-Don Basilio Bautista Boulevard; and Tañong-F. Sevilla Boulevard in Bayan.
All the affected roads in Malabon remained passable to all types of vehicles, the MMDA said.
The MMDA advised motorists and the public to check for the latest road and flooding updates as conditions may change. The agency also said that the public may also contact the MMDA’s 136 Hotline for road problems.
