Green Water II leads charge in 4th CGFI tournament in Baguio City

BAGUIO CITY — Local squad Green Water II stayed firmly in contention in the premier Men’s Regular A division of the 4th Cordillera Golfers Foundation Inc. (CGFI) Tournament, tallying 231 points after two rounds played at John Hay Golf Club and Pinewoods Golf Club.

George Punasen led the charge with 37 PAL points, matching his round 1 output at Pinewoods. He drew support from teammates Douglas and Garry Puckett, who scored 27 and 28 points, respectively, while fourth man Sonny Fontilla contributed 22.

Davao Eagle Masters III, composed of Cris Tan, Rod Lo, Regino Capa and Larry Baluso, compiled 217 points to stay within striking distance behind Green Water II.

The Baguio Jungolf Association team — Marco Angheng, Nathan Belandrez, Sebastian Saycon, and William Sulit — remained in third place with 197 points.

In the Regular B division, Team Mankayan, composed of Ramon Alimba, Donald Daganos, Daniel Mangallay, and Henry Rosito, surged ahead after posting 83 points in round 2.

The Regular D category is shaping up to be a tight contest between Kalinga Mountaineers-Jubilla of Jeff Peralta, Jason Plan, Jaime Ramirez, and Tristan Tolentino with an aggregate 174 points, and Summit Mountaineers of Duane Bagayao, Robert Salicob, and brothers Ralph and Ryan Sarol who are close behind with 170 points after two rounds.

In Seniors A, 3K Immipugo (Jun Adaci, Charles and John Baguilat, and Harry Paltongan) took the lead with 320 points. At close second place is Golden Razcals (Elias Bulut Jr., Bernard Capuyan, Don Dela Torre, Swanny Mangaoang, and Kit Moreno) with 317 points.

Pugo Adventure (Eugene Martin, Willy Cayat, Robert Basco, and Cesar Pasiwen) continues to hold the lead in Seniors B with 318 points, followed by Fairway Strickers (Joseph Dango, John Fomaneg, Aldrin Osha, and Nap Rosito) with 298.

In Seniors D, Ropali-IGC (Nanding Ambatali, Romy Cua, Taby Joson, and Larry Tumaliuan) leads with 209 points, ahead of Philex Golf Team B with 198.

The Baguio Olympics 1 team (Carmela Bumactao, Demma Dulnuan, Angel Ruth Gonzales, and Annika Molintas) continues to dominate the Ladies division with 190 points. Igolfers USA 13 (Marceline Bangonan, Vivian Gomeyac, Gloria Moguet, and Kim Telles) follows closely with 184 points.
