KOTA KINABALU: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) dismissed claims by Warisan deputy information chief Justin Wong that the State Government was attempting to claim credit for the recent High Court ruling on Sabah’s 40 per cent net revenue entitlement.

GRS Youth secretary Rafie Robert said the remark showed Warisan’s failure to understand the real process of securing Sabah’s constitutional rights under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).

He said the Hajiji-led administration had taken a responsible and lawful approach through continued negotiations with the Federal Government while supporting the Sabah Law Society’s legal efforts.

Rafie added that unlike Warisan’s short two-year rule, which produced no tangible progress on the 40 per cent issue, the current government was focused on ensuring the court decision translated into real benefits for Sabahans.

He said GRS was committed to pursuing Sabah’s rights with consistency and maturity, not populism, adding that the people wanted results, not political bickering.
