Kota Kinabalu: A 24-year-old security guard was jailed a month and fined RM1,000 or another month for stealing 65 cartons of mineral water from his workplace last year.
Mohd Forkan Amsar pleaded guilty before Magistrate Stephanie Sherron Abbie to stealing 14 cartons of various brands of mineral water on Nov 26 at 7am at the warehouse of K2 Life Water Industries at KKIP, Menggatal.
Forkan was charged under Section 381 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to seven years and liability of a fine, on conviction.
The court heard from prosecuting officer Inspector Suzie S.K that Forkan’s actions were caught on CCTV.

In another case, two men were penalised for committing drug-related offences.
Chris Toni, 34, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Wan Farrah Farriza Wan Ghazali to having 0.24gm of syabu on Sept 2, last year at Inanam town.
He was fined RM3, 000 or nine months jail. The charge under Section 12 (2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 provides for a fine of up to RM100,000 or up to five years jail or both, on conviction.
Meanwhile, Mohd Zaizam, 30, admitted to taking drugs at 12.15am on Sept 1, last year at a police station, here.
He was jailed seven months.
Taking drugs under Section 15(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act provides for a fine of up to RM5,000 or up to two years’ jail, on conviction.
