Oba Femi and Gunther will both be in high-profile matches this weekend for WWE’s Clash in Italy Premium Live Event.

Gunther will face off with Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship, while Oba Femi is taking on Brock Lesnar in a rematch from WrestleMania 42.

Oba made his official main roster debut less than a year ago, featuring on Saturday Night’s Main Event in December 2025.

Yet he has already earned two high-profile matches against one of the most dominant wrestlers in the company, and Gunther now thinks The Ruler has the potential to become one of the pillars of WWE in the future.

Gunther thinks Oba Femi could become a pillar of WWE

Speaking on the Huge Pop podcast this week, Gunther showered Femi with praise and even teased a potential match in the future.

He said: “He came in guns blazing, really good for him. Hasn’t been in the ring with me 20 minutes yet, so let’s see. I feel like down the line, that’s going to be something that’s very interesting.”

On how far Oba could go in WWE, The Ring General’s verdict was clear: “I think he’s a super exciting talent, and very much looking forward to seeing what he’s going to do in the next years.

“I think he’s got the potential to be a big superstar in this company, be one of the pillars down the line.”

In the meantime, fans are no doubt eagerly waiting to see if Oba Femi can overcome Lesnar for a second time.

Femi seemed to have retired Brock when he beat him at WrestleMania 42, but The Beast made a surprising return on Monday Night Raw earlier this month, attacking his upcoming opponent after answering his open challenge.

Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar’s feud may not be finished at Clash in Italy

It is now being reported by WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select that Lesnar is actually considered the favourite for their meeting this Sunday.

So, if those with knowledge of future plans seem to have Brock as the more likely winner, it would surely set up a rubber match at some point down the line.

That, in turn, does seem to point towards Lesnar sticking around beyond his appearance at Clash in Italy on May 31.

The former UFC star’s contract status with WWE isn’t exactly clear. But further matches with Oba and even a dream meeting with Gunther would surely be something fans would like before he rides off into the sunset properly.
