MANILA, Philippines — The Southwest Monsoon or "Habagat" continues to affect most of Western Luzon in the next 24 hours, according to state weather bureau Pagasa (Philippine, Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration).
In its 5 pm weather bulletin, Pagasa weather specialist Dan Villamil said that the three cyclones spotted over the Pacific Ocean will have no effect to the country in the next 24 hours.
One of the systems being monitored, Typhoon Saudel, was spotted 2,555 kilometers east of Northern Luzon, and has maximum sustained winds of 150 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 185 kilometers per hour.
It is moving northwestward at 15 kilometers per hour.
Tropical Depression Gaenari, formerly "Neneng", was also spotted 660 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 70 kilometers per hour.
A tropical depression is also spotted 1,055 kilometers east of Eatern Visayas, with maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 55 kilometers per hour.
Villamil said that these weather systems could strengthen "Habagat" by Monday or Tuesday, bringing rains to much of Luzon and western section of Visayas.
Meanwhile, Most of Luzon, including Metro Manila, should expect cloudy skies with occasional rainshowers and thunderstorms due to "Habagat" in the next 24 hours.
The Bicol region will experience fair weather conditions, while Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao should expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies and warm temepratures from morning to afternoon.
