KOTA KINABALU: Tanjung Aru homes damaged by the continuous rain and storms received building materials such as roofing sheets, plywood, planks and timber from a Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah Tanjung Aru initiative led by Dr. Ritchie Jay Cheng.
The assistance was made possible through the Chief Minister’s Department, which swiftly allocated the materials as part of early recovery efforts to safeguard the people’s welfare.
Dr. Ritchie said the distribution on Wednesday not only brings relief to affected residents but also reflects the Sabah government’s commitment under Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor to place the people’s needs first.
“This initiative shows politics that prioritises the welfare of the people, staying close to the community and paying attention to their needs,” he said.
“Our focus is to ensure the people’s voices are always heard and defended, because this is the foundation for us to build a more stable, progressive and prosperous Sabah together.”He also expressed his appreciation to the Chief Minister for his care and swift action in addressing grassroots concerns.
Dr. Ritchie added that the programme involving committee members and local youths, also strengthens the spirit of cooperation, unity and togetherness among the people, which is vital in building a stronger Sabah.
