SHAH ALAM – Haze conditions continued to affect several parts of Malaysia, with 30 areas recording unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings in the latest air quality monitoring update.
Batu Pahat, Johor, recorded the highest API reading at 196, followed by Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, at 174.
Seremban, Segamat, Pasir Gudang and Tangkak each recorded readings of 171, while Kluang recorded 168.
Putrajaya and Larkin, Johor, each recorded 166, followed by Melaka at 164.
Other areas with unhealthy readings included Cheras and Johan Setia, Selangor, both at 163, while Kota Tinggi, Johor, recorded 162.
Shah Alam recorded an API reading of 161, while Pengerang, Johor, and Indera Mahkota, Kuantan, Pahang, each recorded 160.
Jerantut, Pahang, recorded 159, followed by Batu Muda, Kuala Lumpur, and Bukit Rambai, Melaka, both at 158.
Petaling Jaya, Banting, Alor Gajah and Balok Baru, Kuantan, each recorded readings of 157.
In Terengganu, Kemaman and Paka each recorded an API reading of 156.
Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, recorded 155, followed by Klang, Selangor, at 153, Rompin, Pahang, at 152, Temerloh, Pahang, at 143, and Tanjung Malim, Perak, at 116.
Meanwhile, the latest air quality monitoring data showed that other areas remained at moderate levels.
