Kota Kinabalu: A helicopter carrying government health workers that earlier on Wednesday made emergency landing in a forest in Penampang has been rectified and flown to its destination in Kota Kinablau, according to the aircraft operator, Layang Layang Group.

The aviation company said in a statement that a secondary helicopter was dispatched to transport the medical staff back to Kota Kinabalu without any incident.

"The aircraft was rectified on-site, and after a thorough flight test, it returned to Kota Kinabalu."

The pilot acted swiftly in accordance to the emergency procedure and executed an autorotation manoeuvre during the flight when one of the helicopter's engine parameter gauges showed a gradual drop in its reading, said the Group General Manager, Captain Shahdon Poong.
